USA are used to use it so as to excuse why they bomb their enemies, who are against their interests.
Otherwise, it could means exactly the opposite: it explains how they justify their attacks around the world.
The 9/11 revenge war in Afghanistan (looking for Bin Laden, who was killed in 2010, besides nuclear weapons - which were never found!), the Iraq invasion and the consequent execution of Saddam Hudssein, among other... These are remarkable examples of what they have done, always "in name of the end of terrorism".

Radicalism, fundamentalism, or any other extremist beliefs are not good. They trigger several drastic outgrowths.
Kill people because of religion? It may sounds old-fashioned for occidentals... On the other hand, we are accustomed to greed crimes.
Which one is the worst? Both.
