Ok, I admit I'm a simple begginer in all this 'cat thing'... That's not to say, though, I simply can't be surprised about the quantity of cat stuff we can find online. It's amazing!

Well, recently, I had a little sample of the wide/colossal love people have for felines watching You Must Love Cats on DVD. I was simply terrified about this fascination.

I needed to say that, then write about it. After all, it IS (really) something! Believe me. Pope resignation, Valentine's Day, Star Wars caracthers, and so on... From current events to very specific fetishs, all kind of stuff you can imagine, it DOES exist linked to cats!

adorable homely world

As "people who lives in glass houses shouldn't throw stones", now, that I have my kitty and I cherish her as I thought I'd never be able to do... I got very excited with all this universe and get into the its spirit: Lis has now her own facebook profile, where she posts everything about her life, preferences etc. It's funny, at least. On the other hand, I frankly haven't wanted to bombard friends (or those who are not sooooo close) with photos and infos about my pussy! (oooops... our! mine and my husband's.)

I own I hate to see some parents (of babies or pets), nonsense, that start to publish only issues and pictures about their children or animals (or both!). They don't take "semancol", otherwise, they'll know that there is life beyond 'family'. I understand their great sentiments (because I have them too!), but moderation is commendable. Sometimes, it's ok, enjoyable, but always(!) - everyday, besides 'nothing else'... it's OVER! Please, recognize it. It sucks.

So, not to bother my audience, I decided to create a new account in order to put just these (cute for some, but hateful for others) content. Furthermore, of course who doesn't appreciate it (at all) wont be invited to became a friend. Thus, we can expose entirely our huge affection for Lis, without disturb anybody not (so) interessed.    

I strongly feel I did the right thing. 

tueurs en série!

Pas les hommes, mais les chats! 

C'est leur nature. Oui, oui... Le saviez-vous?!

Sous leur air innocent, les chats sont de redoutables tueurs en série qui trucident chaque année des milliards d'oiseaux et de mammifères aux États-Unis, ce qui en fait la première cause de mortalité liée aux activités humaines pour la faune sauvage, estime une étude publiée  récemment (Fonte: AFP).

Donc, attention, animaux! (pas seulement aux États-Unis, mas partout le monde...) Ici, chez nous compris, car on a une prometteuse chasseuse qui est tout temps à regarder la fenêtre: Lis!

Oui, la notre minette l'est:

[et elle se met à rouler par terre]

- Minha mimosa! Tiens! (des gâteries pour chats)

[elle mange en me regardant] 

- Qui est la plus belle de touts les chats?!

- Miau! [comme je le comprends, ou "Meow" - comme les francophones l'entendent...] 

Et c'est comme ça que se passe le notre harmonieux quotidien félin 'franco-luso'  à Montréal... une ville particulièrement bilingue ♥

winter environment

- Look there! What are those black points on the water?

“Ducks!”, he answered me smiling… So I looked at them again, very impressed by their facility in stay at the same place, fluctuating, even with the gale which had wind-bounded us, letting everybody when in the wind‘s eyes almost without can walk many times during the better part of a day (and night).

Indeed, I could never imagine that I would find many animals so close where I’m living… I always thought that in Europe everything related to nature (the weather and its creatures inclusively!) were a little grey and dead… Well, I was completely wrong!

Everyday, when I go out home I see on the grassy spaces between the buildings in my neighbourhood some small groups of hares. Furthermore, uncountable species of ducks... green, black and white ones, besides other waterfowls - in most part of them, are adorning the cold landscape. 

In contrast of many cockroachs, rats, pigeons and bats that I was used to find near my house in Rio, here, in Amsterdam, I've seen flights of sea-gulls, storks, herons, gooses, and also flocks of tropical cocotas. Increadible! - I'm really surprised about that in particular due to the adverse weather... 

(*Ok, I know that there are many species of beautiful animals inhabiting Rio. However, in Laranjeiras is not common see crocodiles, fishs, many monkeys and birds! In different places, maybe you can meet them easily, but not there...)

Another type of animal we can meet often here, in the North Europe, is a kind of domestic bear. Actually, this low-temperature season usually results in people's behaviour changes (we practically became it!) - almost hibernating... sleeping and eating a lot (besides sometimes wearing heavy furry clothes). As the teddy ones, we rest on the bed most part of time (that we can!).

On the other hand, there is always someone 'bearlike', who is changed into a gruff person as a consequence of having its heart freezed - of course, this last one, isn’t my case INDEED.

Essa é a copa da zebra – “ÓBVIO”(!), se pensarmos que está sendo realizada no continente africano.

Brincadeira à parte, é o que mais deu nessa edição. E tem até cor a superstição: azul. Au revoir France, Arrivederci Azzurra... No caso dos franceses, pareceu até castigo pela mãozinha que os classificaram pro mundial (ou alguém esqueceu a ajustada com a mão feita por Thierry Henry no lance que garantiu a vaga ao seu país e desclassificou a Irlanda nas eliminatórias do campeonato?).

E nesse contexto de questionável favoritismo, ainda bem que o Brasil está jogando com o uniforme oficial canarinho. Muita bola vai rolar ainda, é fato, mas se nosso futebol ficar no zero a zero como o do jogo de hoje contra Portugal, antevejo, preocupada, um retorno precoce de nossa seleção. O sucesso de uma equipe inteira não pode depender só de três jogadores ausentes (ou melhor, quatro, considerando a marcante presença do nosso forte recurso final, Júlio César). Viu, Dunga?!

Mas voltando a esse equídeo nativo da África central do sul que atormenta a os resultados no esporte, ele me agrada (não posso negar!). Enxergo na surpresa do placar dessas partidas a possibilidade de uma rotatividade saudável. Por vezes, confiança demais gera atropelos de gigantes por manadas desse quadrúpede um tanto exótico, que dificilmente vaga solito pelas savanas. Vem em peso - e foi o que aconteceu: varreu a disputa (ou, no mínimo, mexeu bastante com as expectativas de todos).

Bom é que esse fenômeno assolou principalmente a trajetória dos times europeus. Por aqui, nas Américas, a marolinha atingiu somente Honduras (que não está numa maré muito boa mesmo, com o leme tomado de assalto por Roberto Michelletti há quase um ano já! - a completar em dois dias...). Mas numa final latina clássica, dessa vez marcada por vuzuzelas e listras, temo mais é o bicho solto de Maradona na comemoração do título – conforme ele prometeu fazer, se ganhar.

com a macaca

Num exercício qualquer sobre bichos, lembrei-me de uma predileção curiosa minha. Pois é, pode parecer estranho, mas ADORO macacos. Não qualquer um. Os chimpanzés são meus preferidos.

De micos e saguis, tenho medo. Não me parecem confiáveis. Vejo esses pequenos como ladrõezinhos baratos e um tanto pervertidos até. Orangotangos e gorilas também me agradam, mas nada se compara aos medianos ‘chimpas’.

O jeitinho desses primatas me fascina, sua inteligência me instiga, e as possibilidades de uma verdadeira amizade entre a gente me animam. Acho incríveis os laços criados com quem tem contato com eles em cativeiros, zoológicos etc.

Abomino, entretanto, sua presença em circos e shows performáticos – a de qualquer animal que seja, na verdade. Tudo bem que é uma maneira de aproximar essas criaturas (nem tão) selvagens dos humanos urbanos, mas não gosto. Nem de zôos! Acho triste.

Engraçado isso. Ao usar a palavra agora, dei-me por conta que ‘selvagem’ não significa necessariamente agressividade, diz respeito ao seu habitat natural – a selva. Claro que a maioria das espécies livres na natureza ataca, mas somente para se defender.

E, se formos coerentes e racionais, vamos concluir que eles não estão errados em nos agredir, uma vez que somos (infelizmente) seus possíveis predadores. E encerro este texto me questionando sobre nossa tal ‘racionalidade’...
