By the way, without a doubt, what United States have produced the best is soul music. North American black people changed the world with their rhythm in 50’s. They inclusively created the Rock n’ Roll. Furthermore, both Blues and Jazz Music… Anything else?  No, only this is enough.

This weekend happened in Arpoador, here in Rio, part of the 9° Bourbon Street Fest 2011. On Sunday and yesterday some excellent artists from New Orleans (the black south city which was ravaged by hurricane Katrina in 2008) presented their shows outside.

I was marvellously surprised when I arrived there on Sunday, after beach and saw a nice audience seated cleanly and neatly, well-behaved, civilized, waiting for the beggining of the shows (which started in late). Seemed like some festivals in European parks. Of course some other individuals (who came late) complained about that, asking them to stand up (because in this way, more people could be in smaller space in front of the stage).

Some minutes later, unavoidably, in view of the circumstances, they attended them, but in order to dance. After all, the music is contagious! Everybody was dancing... It was crowded - the proof that Brazilian people appreciate this kind of international event. It was an excellent initiative to bring more culture and good music… for free.

Big Brother on TV - Where being stupid is a good stroke done.

It says that next year will be the last time we are going to see a group of people confined (together) into a house, being watched full time. Finally! Enough clowning…

Our BB(B), this year, have just presented a different end compared by the prior others: surprisingly, who won the tv show was a pretty bitch with a good heart and few active neurons - something unlikely before… when only smarter or poor individuals used to become rich.

In fact, Maria took the award as a consequence of being a good person and not because of her nice face or her curved body. Her both sincerely and innocent way, (besides funny) to deal with the emotionally strong situations in the game gave her R$ 1 million and a half - not bad!

The main audience is feminine (who votes online, calls or sends messages by mobile). For the first time, they frankly enjoy a girl-player. Maria is the proof that Globo was looking for something new, unpredicted. After all, a gay and others (more than) three handsome calm guys have stepped out there as champions, or at least as vice. Thus, this time was the women turn.

When George Orwell wrote 1984, in 1948, I guess he never could imagine that his words would be a kind of prophecy, chiefly: "Ignorance is Strength". Nevertheless, it came true while Big Brother is the powerful attraction on TV - mainly in Brazil. Here, the numbers - of votes etc are the highest.

Our population simply loves to participate. It is up to them decide who is the main ephemeral celebrity at the moment in the country. It is like a national passion. Easy to happen once most of us are not prepared to shelter ourselves of this abundance of frivolousness, thoughtlessness and futility.

Maybe they like to see themselves there as on a mirror, bringing about this results. Thinking better, perhaps Orwell had hit home as a result of his conclusion that indeed (this type of) Freedom is Slavery - of our knowledge, instruction, wisdom, erudition or cultural background. In this case, limited not only by being between four walls but due to the low intellectual capacity of the participants and also of the audience.

Um povo sem cultura está perdido. Os valores se esvaem...O que vem a ser uma pessoa célebre?

Fico realmente muito chateada (e triste!) quando percebo a supervalorização de pessoas cujo único mérito é ter participado de um programa televisivo, expondo sua intimidade - essas tais celebridades instantâneas, fúteis (e malas, na maioria das vezes). Pergunto-me o que, de fato, essas criaturas fizeram para ter ‘reconhecimento’ além da visibilidade própria do meio (veículo e mercado), do fato de terem aparecido na TV. Com o que contribuíram culturalmente?

Ah, se o público soubesse de quem se trata... Provavelmente tendo a chance de conviver de pertinho, mudaria sua visão num piscar de olhos - aliás, de alguma forma as conhecem, mas não pessoalmente. Quando junto, de verdade, é diferente. Intimidade e tolerância andam de mãos dadas e, na vida real, infelizmente não podemos simplesmente 'eliminar' esses indivíduos.

Detesto os Bials daqui, de fora da casa (‘fora da casa’ MESMO!), que decidem manter tais figuras no jogo da vida, apostando questões de trabalho, colocando tudo a perder. Quem deveria ir pro paredão junto são eles! Abaixo BBBs de merda e todos aqueles que vivem de falso glamour de televisão. Indústria cultural o caralh*... Viver de fama? Vai trabalhar, vagabundo!

Gosto dele, não nego (pego quando e se puder!).

Brincadeiras à parte, até porque nunca me interessei por saradões e homens grandes (muito menos BBBs!), queria que fosse ele um dos veterenos a entrar na casa ‘mais vigiada do país’. Desde quando participou anteriormente, há seis anos, da quarta edição do reality, já tinha empatia pelo moço taurino, cabeça-dura.

Lembro que torcia para ele ficar com a 'Tonton' e, que foi uma desilusão ele ter trocado a argentina pela brasiliense Juliana – com quem acabou tendo um affair lá dentro. Fora isso, tava com ele. Adorava os arranca-rabos que ele tinha com outros participantes, inclusive a “amada”. A maioria o viu como vilão na época, mas sempre discordei.

Agora, acredito ser ele um cara que chegou para agregar, apesar de já acumular 'inimizades' e a reprovação inicial do público por seu jeitinho meio ogro, ríspido, direto, mas sincero de ser. Não tinha a popularidade da Fani ou Natália (cujas participações seriam injustas com os atuais brothers, pelo já conquistado gosto do povo), mas hoje é diferente. Parecem estar, enfim, reconhecendo seu valor.

Soubemos que o professor de educação física/artes marciais caiu nas graças da massa ao ganhar poderes supremos esta semana no programa, pela votação livre na internet. Ele pode vetar a decisão do líder, anjo, ou a decisão da casa. Muito bom! Isso prova que as pessoas estão vendo que 'os brutos também amam' (do seu jeito, claro). Nem com os coloridos, ou com a difícil Lena anda se atritando mais...

Torço por ele, não só por ser conterrâneo meu, mas por seu temperamento forte e sua postura que me agradam. Acho que, hoje, mais maduro, ele veio com tudo, pra ganhar. Essa é uma qualidade importante em jogos desse tipo. Que bom, porque 2010 é o ano do dourado – para mim, pelo menos, sim (é a arte 'imitando' a vida, mais uma vez!).

Boas energias, anti-herói! Para nós. Dourado é a cor da vitória. Olé!
