I wonder... Has someone used to know Elías García Martínez until now? (or his century-old fresco “ecce homo”?)

In her 80s and so much good intentions (but unfortunatelly a huge lack of talent!), Cecilia Giménez rendered his art (and even Borja, in Spain) well-known around the world lately, when she assumed her attempt of restoring the painting.

Well, at least the bizarre work made by her had a bright side. This topic become a viral hit, once many parodies have been made, turning the new ruined Jesus image as The Lion King, ET, the Munch's Scream, Che and Monalisa (classics of adaptations!), and also the Marilyn Monroe of Warhol!

Its no resemblance with Christ was responsible for jokes as putting his new portrait where we were used to see Him printed before: in a toast, tshirts, and also in a dog's butt - where a "famous" picture online shows Him there! You can even make your own restore in this site.

Incredible so huge popularity! This represents our present reality: a revolution of values and concepts... Jesus is not SO untouchable anymore, besides restoring being at the top right now (If this catches on... actually, its already done! There are new versions of famous paintings everyday...).

Hooray for Cecilia Giménez, criativity and liberty of expression!

From now, gay people here in Brazil are allowed to officialize their unions. The decision was taken yesterday by the Supreme Federal Tribunal. Or rather, they can get married civilly!

That means that precept which say that ‘nobody belongs to nobody’ - commonly used until now in homosexual sphere is somewhat currently old. However, once a formalized relationship, the duties as well the rights are more available than never!

Over again, the family conpect has changed around the world. Albeit in a delay of around an year compared with Argentina, our Latin American neighbor, for instance… (when Liniers drew this comic strip above) But, ok, it happens anyway!

Better late than never...(!) After all, many couples have been waiting for it for a long tim. Along with, many other will just coming out of the closet because now the law is on their side.

By the way, I hope not only that this fact encourage who is hiding himself behind any fear, but also that one day they can seat side by side and simply be free to demonstrate their affection with no discrimination.

I’m convinced that this is the worst limitation for them: can't show publicly their feelings. Believe... There still are a long distance to be run through until it be possible - simple like that.

Am I exaggerating? I don't think so. Lastly, when the boot is on the other foot, probably, you are going to agree with me, once, in general, give a mere kiss in who they love hasn’t been so easy facing so many desapproving eyes, laughs and/or unpleasing faces, in addition of having some fingers pointed at you. Wow!

So, courage! Place yourself. Chin up - tooth and nail, with might and main!   

Proud and no prejudice. Come on!

Ela foi eleita há apenas quatro dias, mas sua importância no cenário internacional já está sendo reconhecida. Dilma Rousseff, nossa próxima presidente, foi classificada hoje pela revista Forbes como a 16ª pessoa mais poderosa do planeta.

Dilma ainda está longe de ser um Obama, mas ficou à frente de personalidades como Steve Jobs, chefão da Apple (17º), Nicolas Sarkozy (19º), Hillary Clinton (20º) e Binyamin Netanyahu, primeiro-ministro de Israel (24º). É a terceira mulher melhor colocada, atrás apenas da chanceler alemã Angela Merkel (6ª) e da política indiana Sonia Gandhi (9ª).

Não é pouca coisa, não... Lula, em 2009, ficou em 33°, e este ano ele (assombrosamente) nem apareceu na listagem. Mas antes mesmo de vencer a eleição, em outubro agora, o nome da candidata petista já ocpava o 95° lugar na relação das mulheres mais poderosas. Michelle Obama ficou em primeiro. 

A publicação estadunidense reconhece a força dessa mulher brasileira, a pioneira em assumir esse posto no país, apresentando-a como uma ex-guerrilheira marxista que foi presa e torturada, divorciada duas vezes e que ainda sobreviveu a um câncer linfático. Quer mais? Eles ainda dizem que Dona Dilma está "tomando as rédeas do Brasil". Segura, peão! Aliás, NINGUÉM a segura mais...(!)

E ainda: a previsão é que seu nome fique mais em voga com os preparativos para a Copa de 2014 e as Olimpíadas de 2016, ambos eventos a serem sediados aqui nos próximos anos. O Brasil está na mira. Lula nos colocou sob os holofotes, que agora Dilma lide bem com os poderes (Jedi) dessa luz toda.

  revendo conceitos

Por falar em Obama, engraçado eu estar tratando disso justamente hoje, quando em menos de 24 horas algumas verdades absolutas deixaram de assim o ser, pelo menos aqui, para mim. Claro, tudo é um processo, mas quem diria que em tão pouco tempo tanto iria mudar?!

Para surpresa de todo o mundo (inclusive a minha, pois ontem mesmo a mula rugiu sobre esse assunto...), o presidente norte-americano não encabeça mais o ranking, que agora tem no topo o líder chinês Hu Jintao. Talvez se eu afirmasse isso dez anos atrás, muitos duvidariam dessa possibilidade. Pois é, além de várias cadeiras na câmara, Obama também perdeu o SEU lugar. Deixou de ser o "bambambam", o 'dono do pedaço', "O cara" - rótulo, aliás, atribuído a Lula, ano passado.

China, Índia, Rússia e Brasil estão com tudo! Mais do que nunca, é hora de constatarmos a fragilidade de um sistema até então considerado inabalável. Lembrei agora dos ciclos... Impérios como o do Egito, o Persa, o Greco-romano, entre outros tão imponentes em determinadas épocas, por diferentes motivos, um dia sucumbiram. Estamos nós vivenciando esse instante histórico?

Economia, popularidade, influência etc. Hoje, os fatores que fazem de um homem todo-poderoso não se igualam aos do passado, são mais flexíveis, tênues. E, com certeza, não serão os mesmos que daqui a alguns anos determinarão tal qualidade. Pensemos nisso. Os tempos são outros, mais dinâmicos e volúveis - para não dizer 'frenéticos' e ‘efêmeros’.

Acompanhando a tendência do momento, é bem capaz que Michelle tenha condições de alcançar rapidamente seu marido nessa listagem (ou só se aproximar, que seja...). Na verdade, não me surpreenderá se, muito em breve, esse título mor seja o de um nome feminino, seguido de diversos como o seu.
