not that much smooth

To whom has thought Canada (in detail, Quebec) was a tranquil and serene place to live, I listed briefly some events I witnessed, which prove that it REALLY rocks in different aspects - for good or ill:

Hurricane Irene passed by here in August 2011;

Occupy Montreal resisted at Square Victoria more than a month last year;

Le Printemps Érable, how they call the period of students protests in Quebec this year, caused! Red squares, Bill 78, confrontations, violence... even the possibility of Montreal Grand Prix cancellation. Lastly, the inevitable happened: elections! People voted massively. Then, their Prime Minister was replaced as a democratical consequence of his own (unsatisfactory) administration. Without a doubt, a remarkable triumphe;

We watched live on 4th September night: Pauline Marois, the new Quebec Prime Minister, was abruptly dragged off stage during her victory speech (in which she was calling for unity). A man opened fire into the Metropolis, where she was speaking. This attack brought out "past" issues of sovereignty, once the felon was arrested claiming "The anglos are waking up". The shooting left one victim dead and a second in critical condition. At the theatre where tragedy happened; a benefit concert with local stars (as Celine Dion and Arcade Fire, among others) was offered for the daughter of Denis Blanchette (murdered). Donations were also collected for Dave Courage, the other man hit by the same bullet.

Charbonneau Commission scandalizes with strong allegations of illegal financing between Quebec Liberal Party and (Italian) Mafia.
Due to revelations of his implication, Montreal citizens ask their mayor, Gérald Tremblay, to resign immediately;

Another season off: NHL lockout desapoints hockey supporters this year. If some kind of soccer strike occurs in Brazil, I'm sure it would give rise to a huge civil war there (In this regard, Canadians are so civilized!);

In the end of May, Luka Magnotta shocked the whole world with his brutal crime. He killed his boyfriend, Lin Jun. I frankly don't know what was the worst: the fact of dismembering the chinese student, or sendind parts of his body by mail - to the Conservative Party of Canada national office, and also to elementary schools in other provinces. Only in June, they finally found Jun's head in a park of Montreal. Well, if the goal of this mere model was be famous, he got it. Let's face it: as a shoody porno actor, he made an successful 'real thriller' (not his speciality). However, I wonder myself how he will enjoy his celebrity confined in a jail until his death... Not worth job, dude!;

A 4.5 Richter scale earthquake shaked Montreal area last night.

Well, it IS something, isn't?!

On se souviendra!

911 turning 728

The classical police number is at a low... 728, instead, is on the wave crest nowadays. Actually, since the students protests occured last spring...

Cop n. 728, become famous by many videos showing her intolerant behavior to deal with people in general, not only rioters in upheaval. She pepper-sprayed broadly!

Freshly, a new episode drew forth her! Once again, in an aggressive exchange captured on video. Watch a news reporting about here.

The worst, in my opinion, is her point of view, her both stiff ideas and conduct. Her unfortunate commentaries like "On a réussi à le menotter.

Stéfanie Trudeau, implied in more this case, drags attributtes of a violent person since school, according her ex classmates. Well, it's visible, evident, clear by seeing these videos. Hail current technology! (which permit people to record several occurrences).

After this event, Montreal police reputation was put in check. "Is this kind of police we want (and need) here?" - they called into question. At least, now, she was FINALLY suspended.

A site about her was even created. Check it out.

dicotomia

A instisfação social é saudavel, coerente, bem-vinda.

Viva a democracia!

when everything goes astray

A man has been robbed for a long time and, one day, decided to put some kind of artifice to catch the thief, as a rat-trap (or a man-trap?). Precisely: the baddie took the bait. He fell into the trap prepared there, waiting for the exact moment of the robbery.

The most astonishing thing of this story (surprisingly) is the fact that the 'official crime' was the robber's death, not his attempt to steal goods. The police put all the blame on the house's owner. For them, it was not a self-defence issue. Actually, it doesn’t matter anymore...

Unfortunately, nowadays, the law is not on the citizens' side indeed - even when protecting themselves… trying to have some security which government “simply” doesn’t give us. This is our (as stupid as nonsense) current Brazilian reality.

I can't stand too much unfairness. Living here seems a pitfall.

After that, I just want say: bye! (or rather: fuc* you, inequitable guys!).

God save the Queen the trouble

Today, on the Labour Day, I will ask which one is Queen Elizabeth II’s? Only representation, I guess.

I really don’t agree with monarch politic system. I’m republican, after all. However, this way to govern a country have worked until now in UK and adjacencies. Surprising, British people approve it.

This behaviour was clear this week, during the fervent royal wedding arrangements and events. Incidentally, who did pay for it? I suppose the people - all colonies included.

It is said that Middleton family was the one-third sponsor. The other two fraction, well… you know. Nevertheless, it seems that nobody (or the major part of them don‘t) cares about that…

As long as I’m used to a different system, I really don’t understand this situation. Though, I have to admit that the countries she is the Head are in good economical and social conditions.

There is a merit in that, which haven’t done by any other leader. Even so, she has a role that, sometimes, seems as a joke, due to the First Ministers more active functions. Thus, she has somewhat as an ornamental political occupation.

Even worst is the waiting of Prince Charles to become king. I read that is the longest crowning delay of their History. Ok, he is merely decorative indeed... Owing to his lack of popularity, many prefer William as her successor.

Dutch 30th April

At the same time, yesterday was celebrated in the Netherlands the Queen’s Day (Koninginnedag). I swear I would like to had been there.

Spring time, hot pleasant weather, everybody going to the parks on weekends, as well as celebrating festive events... It is a quite good opportunity to be happy(er).

Maybe another time… next year. I hope so! - being some kind of queen there.

they wormed their way

Pitiful, everything goes bad here.

I advice: my extreme opinion probably will shock you. So, it’s up to you whether continuing to read or not.

I was astonished to watch all the news about the fake policeman discovered recently in Rio. However, not owing to his lie, but the complete surprise of population about that. Let’s aim some disturbs usually occurred:

- Instead being the ‘law-guys’, giving us all the necessary security, many policeman don’t act as a good role. Considering that, everyday, they ask citizens some tips to liberate the bad conducers, weed smokers, or whoever…are doing something wrong(!), it is clear that they are not making things well, dealing wrongly with this power received.

- No one would dispute that politicians are not doing well their jobs. As long as they were working hard for our welfare, the reality of Brazil would be another - better for everyone, of course! They robber public money, over incoming as much as they could everything possible, in addition of accepting tips too etc.

Now, answer me: who are the real fake men of good?

- Carlos da Cruz Sampaio Junior, that wanted to be a cop even not being approved to it. This poor guy not only simulated false positions at the Police but also forged documents which proofed his calling. Whereas there, he conduce illegally some of their battalion’s missions against bandits. It is a perfect case that a common person who wants to be a hero (or someone similar to it!) even not through right means

or…

- our legal men accordingly Brazilian rules (politicians or policeman), elected by us or approved in a specific test to became a civil servant - that gave them power to have both duty and responsibility to be in the office they are,   above all suspicion. Even so, them attitudes don’t are suitable with their roles in our society. In other words: they are not good guys, or rather: the main individuals that MUST carry on the laws, “simply” don’t.

It is interesting (not to say an absurd!) that even if facing this horrible reality which we live here, only few people complain, is upset or indignant with the winding means this kind of thing often happen here! Surreal.

I’m not here justifying the lies of the fake cop, just saying that there are many worst things forgotten while a smaller mistake stamps all chief news section of every single TV channel. Hey, someone remembers that we have voted in these (ir)responsible fellows who let those ones to do whatever thy want to, as being allowed to gain an advantage over everything?

It seems somewhat as fiction... Tropa de Elite - the movie. While one wants to be Capitão Nascimento, others insist in wormed ways (read ‘the our Mafia’ ones - “Milícia’s”) to get the jump on. From my point of view, the punishment for this bad conduct to whom was trusted this serious charge in society, should be more severe than for who tried do alternatively their jobs, even being a unlawful.
